Hop in a time machine and go with us back to the 1700s to eat with George Washington in Colonial Williamsburg. This Beef Tea would've been originally served to fortify invalids but its savory goodness couldn't be contained for long and now we can recreate it to warm us on a cold winter day! Add your sippets (bread) to soak up the broth and you have the perfect meal.
Cookbook used: The Colonial Williamsburg Tavern Cookbook (by Tom Eckerle 2001)
What you'll need:
2 Onions 2 Carrots 2 Celery Ribs 2 Plum Tomatoes 10 c Beef Stock 6 oz Beef (I used more so I could have plenty of leftovers) 1/2 c Barley Salt and Pepper Loaf of good Bread
